For UK heating, plumbing, heat pump, solar & battery installers
Never miss a job enquiry again.
You can't answer the phone from a loft or under a boiler, and most callers won't leave a voicemail. They just ring the next firm. InstallerLine answers for you. It takes the details, pencils the survey into your diary for you to confirm with one tap, and texts you a summary before you've put your tools down.

How it works
Divert your missed calls
Turn on "divert when busy or unanswered" on your mobile or landline. It takes two minutes, and we send you the steps for your network.
We build your receptionist
We set up your services, area, hours, FAQs and diary, and test it before it goes live. You approve exactly what it's allowed to say.
Every enquiry, captured
After each call you get an email and a text with the caller's name, number, postcode, job and urgency. Anyone who rings off gets a text back.
What the AI does, and what it doesn't
✅ It will
- Answer in your business name, 24/7, in plain British English
- Tell callers it's an AI assistant and that the call is recorded
- Take name, phone, postcode, address and job details, and read them back
- Pencil boiler services and heat pump, solar and battery surveys into your diary, within your booking rules, for you to confirm with one tap
- Tell callers the time is provisional until you text to confirm, and free the slot if you don't
- Flag no-heat calls from elderly or vulnerable households as urgent
- Answer FAQs you've approved: hours, area, Gas Safe, MCS, grants
- Politely turn away sales calls
- Text back callers who hang up
❌ It won't
- Pretend to be a person
- Diagnose faults or give advice on gas work
- Quote prices you haven't approved
- Promise a firm time, price or engineer, or take card payments
- Book gas leaks or CO alarms in as normal jobs
What lands on your phone
When a caller wants a survey or a service, InstallerLine pencils it into your diary as provisional and texts you straight away. Nothing is final until you confirm with one tap, or reply with a different time.

How does it know when you're free?
Before it pencils anything in, the AI checks when you're free. You choose how it does that.

Available now
One click to connect, and you never share your password with us. The AI only sees when you're busy, not what's in your diary. It only adds its own provisional entries, and you can disconnect any time.
Just tell us your hours
No calendar needed. Tell us when you do surveys and services, for example weekday mornings 8–12, and the AI only offers those slots. Your limits still apply, like the maximum per day and postcodes you don't cover.

Who's behind InstallerLine
I've been a marine engineer at sea since 2000: commercial shipping until 2017, superyachts since then, and I hold a Chief Engineer Unlimited certificate. I'm not an installer. But more than 25 years of keeping ships running taught me exactly what downtime costs, and a missed call while you're mid-job is downtime too. So I built InstallerLine to answer the phone when you can't. I'm personally onboarding our first 10 founding installers.

Hear a demo
Call our demo line: 07482 648517. Hear the AI receptionist answer as a fictional heating firm, Borders Heating. Pretend your boiler's packed in, ask for a heat pump survey, or say you can smell gas.
📞 Call the demo line
It takes your details and pencils a survey in provisionally, just as it would for you. On a real line, you confirm each one with one tap.
Standard UK call rates apply. Calls to the demo line are recorded and transcribed so we can improve the service. Borders Heating isn't a real firm, so no engineer will be sent.

- AI
- Hello, you're through to Borders Heating. I'm an AI assistant answering calls while the team are out on jobs. This is a demonstration line, so no one will actually be sent out. If you smell gas, please say so now. How can I help?
- Caller
- Hi. My name is Robert Jones, and I want a combi boiler service.
- AI
- One moment, I'm just checking the diary. I can pencil you in for Friday 23 October between 8am and 12pm, or Monday 26 October between 12pm and 4pm. Which would suit you better?
- Caller
- Monday, please.
- AI
- I've pencilled you in for Monday 26 October between 12pm and 4pm. That's provisional until the team confirm it. You'll get a text to confirm the time, or to suggest another one.
Shortened: the recording notice and the part where the caller gives their mobile number are cut out.
Prefer to try it live? Call 07482 648517
The quickest way to judge it is to ring it yourself. Try a breakdown, a survey request or a gas smell and see how it handles each one.
Questions
Do I need to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number and divert calls you don't answer (or all calls, if you prefer) to your InstallerLine number. Your phone provider may charge for diverted calls, depending on your plan.
Will callers know it's an AI?
Yes. It says so at the start of every call, and it tells callers the call is recorded. We think honesty builds trust, and it's the right thing to do under UK data protection law.
What happens if someone smells gas?
The AI stops and gives clear safety instructions: get out, don't use switches or flames, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 (999 if anyone's in danger). It does not book an engineer, and it sends you a safety alert.
Can it pencil jobs into my diary?
Yes, on Receptionist and Busy Firm, but nothing is final without your OK. You can link your Google Calendar now (Outlook / Microsoft 365 is coming soon), or just give us your hours, and you set the rules: working hours, travel time between jobs, maximum surveys a day, minimum notice and how far ahead, postcodes to exclude, and which jobs can be pencilled in. Each job goes in marked PROVISIONAL and you get a text: tap to confirm or reply with another time. Callers are told the time is pencilled in. If you haven't confirmed within 24 hours (or 2 hours before the slot, if sooner), the caller gets a polite text saying you'll ring to arrange a time, and the slot is freed. Repairs and breakdowns are always call-backs.
Can I stop it quoting prices?
By default it never quotes prices. You can approve specific statements, such as "annual boiler service from £X", if you want it to.
What if it gets something wrong?
Every summary includes the recording and transcript, so you can check. Tell us and we'll fix the script, usually the same day.
Who handles my customers' data?
You stay in control of your callers' data, and we process it on your behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. Recordings are kept for 30 days by default. We give you wording to add to your own privacy notice.
How does the founding offer work?
It's for our first 10 clients. You don't need a card to sign up. Your free first month starts when your number goes live, and we'll set up a card or Direct Debit with you before it ends. Nothing is taken during the free month. Your first payment is on day 31, and we email you 7 days before. Cancel by email any time before then and you pay nothing. Founders also get the £99 setup fee waived and their monthly price locked for 12 months.
Do I need to give card details to sign up?
No. Signing up just puts your name down for a founding place. We'll set up a card or Direct Debit with you before your free month ends, so your service carries straight on without a gap. Nothing is charged before day 31, and cancelling before then costs nothing.
Is there a contract?
No long contract. After your free month it's monthly rolling, and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. The 12-month price lock is a promise from us, not a commitment from you.
Do I need a limited company?
No. Sole traders, partnerships and limited companies can all use InstallerLine.
